2008 Summer internships
Johnson Publishing Company (JPC) is seeking undergraduate and graduate students who are interested in pursuing a paid summer internship position.   JPC will offer interns a challenging and meaningful work environment that will allow them to demonstrate their abilities, apply the knowledge they’ve acquired through their college courses and help cultivate skills necessary for employment in their specific fields of study.
Paid ($10.00/hr) internship opportunities at Johnson Publishing Company (JPC) are available for the summer 2008 in the following areas:

• Print Journalism

• Advertising Research & Sales

• Marketing

• Graphic Art

• Public Relations

• Editorial & Multimedia - EbonyJet.com

Internship Criteria:

• Junior/Senior Undergraduate and Graduate student enrolled in an accredited college or university pursing a degree in Journalism, Advertising, Marketing or Graphic Art

• At least a 2.8 cumulative GPA

• Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills; proficient computer skills

• Intern candidates must be available for a minimum of 30 hours per week during daytime business hours for approximately 10 weeks, beginning June, 2008.

Position requires a candidate with superior writing skills and working knowledge of multimedia platforms and software including blog technologies such as WordPress, video editing software, and the uploading of text, photo and video.

Should be a fanatic about the power and potential of the web and understand not just what works online, but also why. Should have a history of magazine or feature style writing.

Candidate will research and prep text and photos for editorial, work with freelance contributors to assign and schedule contributions and work with editors to develop new projects for EbonyJet.com.
